I drew a show poster for a Slick Rick show in 2007. I hadn’t had the chance to meet him until a few months ago when he played a show in Boston. I was sort of nervous because he is a famous rapper/story teller. I’m just a tiny squirrelly girl that draws.

He was sitting on a couch in the VIP room at the venue. I walked over to him with a small handful of my posters and introduced myself. He looked at me, gently took my hand and kissed it. He was extremely nice and quite a gentleman! I gave him a framed print of the poster and he loved it! The show was great, and now I have a signed print! I gave the other signed prints to my friends.

I salvaged this one!

I started drawing this portrait of Sean Lennon a few months ago. Soon after, I spilled a cup of coffee on a handful of drawings including this one. I never finished it, and it had been hiding in a portfolio ever since. Today I decided to revive it with the help of Photoshop.

A Blast From The Past

This is the first show flyer I ever created from 2005! At the time, I was experimenting with pen and ink and I hadn’t yet developed a style. My friend Gian asked me to draw a little flyer for an apartment show in Boston. It was this assignment that made me intrigued and fascinated with making art for musicians. These musicians are truly magical so I was honored to do this project.

Casey Desmond

I finished a t-shirt/poster design for Boston singer/songwriter, Casey Desmond. She requested I draw a portrait of her playing an omnichord with birds and pink trees surrounding her. Turquoise, blue, pink, purple, and red were the desired colors. This design will also be printed on light blue shirts!

Casey recently played a show with David Cook (winner of American Idol last year). She signed hundreds of posters! I am so proud of her. She’s one of the sweetest most talented people I’ve ever met! Here are some photos from her show:

Poster Art Show @ LAB

Yesterday, LAB, a gallery/apparel store in Boston, presented a series of show posters created by artists around the US and Canada. This event was connected to a show poster documentary that is being shown at The Museum Of Fine Arts this month. Artists included in the LAB poster show are as follows: Tofusquirrel, Gunsho, James Quigley, Jesse Ledoux, Jeff Kleinsmith, theMiracle5, Dan McCarthy, Nate Duval, Darren Pasemko, and Brian Butler. There was an open bar, beautiful art, and a great people!
